Let’s restart walking: entry level course

Speed walking, nordic walking, mindful walking

Introduction and goals of the course

Walking is a vital activity, however often forgotten and, therefore, often not naturally done, anymore. The present enthusiasm for outdoor activities may be positive, when not only regulated by commercial or performance suggestions, that may bring us out of our comfort zone.
This course can be a way to restart walking, rediscovering some basic principles of this practice. To be able to evaluate personal objectives and correctly adapt the avaiable techniques to personal needs and preferences.

General program

  • Introduction to walking, movement and basic techniques
  • Elements of mindful walking: concentration and attention to the body
  • Speed walking: techniques and aims
  • Nordic walking: techniques and aims

First meeting: Tuesday, April 26, 17.30-19.30, centro sportivo Montagna, La Spezia

Next meetings: Tuesday and Fidays, same time (to be decided with participants, after the first meeting)

Subjects of the first meeting will be: introduction to walking, elements of mindful walking, intriduction to specific techniques. Duirng the following days the program will be fully developed, also in relation to participants’ interactions.  The participants will be able to acquire the basics to manage walking programs, and decide about further learning steps.

Registration, conditions, payments

Cost, per person: 80 Euros. The course will take place with a minimum of 3 participants; max 6.

  • The course will be confirmed at the reaching of the minimum number of consolidated registrations
  • (for a better organisation, please also answer to the questions at the end)
  • Registration by e-mail, at info@piudimille.com, within Saturday, April 23rd (better if earlier, see below)
  • when your regisration mail is received, you will receive a pro-forma invoice, for the advance fee of 20 euros, that you can pay by Pay Pal or credit card
  • your registration will be confirmed at the reception of the payment or, anyway, at the reception of your proof of payment
    final balance is due after the first lesson
  • for any information, write an e-mail at the address specified above; leaving your telephone number you can be called back. Your e-mail address and telephone number will not be used for different scopes fro what related to this initiative.

The use of walking poles is included in the fee.

Policy in case of withdrawals

  • withdrawal after paying the advance fee, but within April 23rd: the advance will be refunded, in the way taht will be agreed, minus a 1 Euro waiver. This can be however scaled from fees of possible forthcoming events.
  • withdrawal after paying the advance fee, after April 23, but before the first lesson: no refund is due
  • withdrawal after tye first lesson: the final balance is not due
  • IMPORTANT: in the least two cases the course will go on only in case the minimum number of 3 participants is conserved.
  • withdrrwals after the payment of final balance do not give right of refunding. Wha alredy paid can be however scaled from fees of forthcoming events. The participation at forthcoming events of the basis of partially paid fees will not however counted for the minimum number of participants

What to bring

Confortable clothes (no jeans or tight trousers); sport shoes with sculptured sole, but not rigid (hiking shoes or boots are not appropriate). Put your personal things in a small backpack, not impeding your movements. If you wish, bring water and insect repellant. Bring a face mask, for possible short distance interaction.
